Creed of the HEART[1]

We believe in one God who is self-revealed, as Lord of all and in all, through the Holy Bible as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.[2]

In divine communion[3], God created and sustains humanity and the cosmos (seen and unseen) for his glory.[4]  Humanity initially enjoyed open fellowship with God, but beguiled humanity rejected the Lord thereby becoming fallen and sinful.[5]  The Father so loved the world that by grace he sent Jesus the Messiah, his only begotten son, to redeem humanity through faith in his death, burial, and resurrection.[6]  Through his resurrection Jesus Christ ushered in the kingdom of God, ascended to heaven, is author and finisher of the faith, and will one day return as righteous judge and conquering king.[7]

In advancing the kingdom of God, the Holy Spirit empowers the apostolic witness of the Church commissioned by Jesus Christ to glorify God universally.[8]  In glorifying God, the Church is commanded to holistically love God and all humanity.[9]  In actively loving God and neighbor, the Church is to advocate on behalf of the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick and imprisoned for justice that rolls "down like waters and righteousness like an ever flowing stream".[10]
